Last years winner and Maxifuel athlete Stuart Hayes Finished 13th in ITU World Championship Series race in wet and windy Kitzbühel, Austria.
Having stunned the field in Austria last year, using his power on the bike to break clear and register his first victory at World Championship Series level, Stuart entered the race hoping for a repeat this year to boost his Olympic hopes.
After a positive swim, Stuart Hayes formed a three-man breakaway on the bike with Alistair Brownlee and Brazil's Reinaldo Colucci, however as they entered the run 30 seconds ahead of the field, Brownlee immediately opened up a gap and cruised through the rest of the 10 kilometres. Hayes continued to push into 2nd on the run but was caught by a small closing pack and finished in a respectable 13th place.
GE GB Triathlete Will Clarke recorded his best ever result in the Dextro Energy Triathlon ITU World Championship Series. He looked strong in the final metres sprinting away from Australia’s Brad Kahlefeldt, who was third in the Series last year.

Scotland’s David McNamee had a strong performance in 17th. Harry Wiltshire was 32nd and Tim Don 45th.
Maxifuel is the Official Nutrition Partner to the British Triathlon Federation.
